Operations & Events Associate (Merantix AI Campus)

What we do Merantix is a group of AI-first organisations and initiatives. Our mission is to drive AI adoption in Europe, and we achieve this by:

2. Developing AI-enabled solutions for various industries through Merantix Momentum,

3. Leading the dialogue on AI adoption and connecting AI stakeholders through Merantix AI Campus.

The Merantix AI Campus is the leading platform for uniting key stakeholders in a collaborative AI environment, fostering transparency and exchange. In the past 5 years, it has become Europe's hub for AI innovation and adoption, the Campus covers everything from deeply technical topics to business, ethics, and regulations. We’ve started to grow internationally with pop-ups in Basel and London, we also co-initiated the AI House 2025 at the World Economic Forum, featuring 180+ speakers and 5,000 attendees. And we’re just getting started!

Merantix is growing the Merantix AI Campus organisation and is looking for a talent that has an eye for detail, while being eager to contribute to a dynamic and ambitious initiative in a small team.  Merantix AI Campus organisation to support and run operations and events.

Your role We view operational excellence as the backbone of our organisation -- only when fully functioning can we unlock true community building!

Your Responsibilities

Member experience

• Own the onboarding and offboarding experience for new members and company admins, including our onboarding breakfast and the wider member journey.

• Be the first point of contact for members on operational issues and events, through tickets and Slack.

• Keep members informed and engaged with weekly campus updates, event invites and ad hoc announcements. Drive the experience of the tools they use every day, such as Slack and our member platform.

• Bring the community together through AI Campus community events and initiatives like coffee chats, and connect residents where it’s relevant.

Events

• Own event operations end to end for campus-run and partnership events, from logistics to onsite execution.

• Manage our event pipeline and calendar. Review inbound bookings, onboard member organisers to our systems, and announce events to the community.

Workplace operations

• Collaborate with our day-to-day service partners, including reception, cleaning, and facility management, and keep recurring services, maintenance tickets and campus walkthroughs on track.

• Look after inventory and supplies, from lockers to the coffee bar.

• Support preparatory bookkeeping, subscriptions, and our billing inbox.

Across all of this, support special projects and keep improving how we work, so things get a little easier for members and the team every month.

Your profile We define ourselves by a culture of ownership and cooperation. We are looking for driven, capable, visionary and prudent talents with proven track records of personal, academic and professional achievement.

• You are ready to be one of the early team of the Merantix AI Campus and thrive within the dynamic startup environment;

• You have already worked in a similar role within for 1-2 years;

• You have excellent communication verbal and written in English (German is a bonus);

• You have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams;

• You are very hands-on  with an eye for the detail;

• You are highly self-organised and have a structured approach to work with an ability to multitask;

• You are passionate about creating meaningful impact and contributing to the European AI revolution.

• You don’t mind rolling up your sleeves. Some days that means carrying drinks crates or rearranging furniture for an event.
